What is 2fa (2-Fluoroamphetamine (hydrochloride))
1-(2-Fluorophenyl)propan-2-amine (2-Fluoroamphetamine; 2-FA) underwent a critical review in November 2015 at the 37th meeting of the WHO Expert Committee on Drug Dependence. Now, the Committee recommended that 2FA not be placed under international control at that time due to insufficiency of data regarding dependence, abuse and risks to public health but be kept under surveillance. This review represents an update.

2-Fluoroamphetamine (2FA) hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder
2FA is a psychomotor stimulant first synthesized in the early 1940s. Moreover, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) received the first formal notification of the detection of 2fa in December 2008. Since at least 2007, Its presence has been noted.
Drug situation
It has also been detected as an adulterant present in other illicit controlled substances. The EMCDDA has been notified of seizures from various locations in Europe since 2008. In the Netherlands, 2fa has recently established itself as a drug of choice (powdered form, tablets and capsules) in a subpopulation of recreational drug users associated with clubs and music festivals. Administered mostly orally or by nasal insufflation (snorting).
Non-Medical Use, Abuse and Dependence
Recreational substance users rather than the general population make use of 2FA . The mode of use may involve the combinational use (intentionally or unintentionally) of other drugs and users may be unaware of the exact dose or compound being ingested (by whatever route). Also, Dependence-producing properties in humans have not been studied. 2FA has appeared in Europe since 2007.
Found in products sold as ‘ecstasy’/MDMA tablets, amphetamine powder over the years. Equally present in other illicit controlled substances. Readily available either from online or offline retailers.
