4-HO-AMT
4-Hydroxy-α-methyltryptamine (4-HO-aMT) or 4-ho-amt is a psychedelic drug of the tryptamine class. It is a close structural analogue of α-methyltryptamine (αMT) and produces similar effects to it, but with exacerbated side effects similarly to 5-MeO-aMT. Alexander Shulgin describes 4-HO-αMT briefly in his book TiHKAL.
Scientists have looked at 4-hydroxy analogue of αMT in human subjects. It has pronounce visual effects, some subjects said they had dizziness and a depressed feeling. There were, however, several toxic signs at doses of 15 to 20 milligrams orally, including abdominal pain, tachycardia, increased blood pressure and, with several people, headache and diarrhoea.
it is similar to other drugs of the 4-HO series such as 4-ho-met, 4 ho det, 4 ho dipt

Pharmacological effects
Scientists have carried out very little studies about this compound on animals and humans. Thus, they have reported little information about the product. Therefore, no one really knows about long-term effects, dependency potential, toxicological risks, or possible contraindications.
4-ho-amt produces less mentally intense, though highly visual experiences relative to psychedelics like LSD, psilocin, and 4-AcO-DMT. The drug has this fair general characterization, but its tendency to be recreational and clearheaded should not be overstated. Some users experience strong mental effects at common doses and for a large portion of users it will eventually become intense if they use high doses. As is true for essentially all psychedelics, 4-ho-amt deserves respect and users should not treat it as a risk-free substance. A proper set and setting remain important factors for reducing the risks and enhancing the positive aspects of the drug.
